ROBBIE03 Report post Posted Sunday at 08:59 PM I purchased a Cowboy 797 sewing machine a month ago. Been playing around with it and have sewn a couple bags and a knife scabbard. I am having problems with getting the stitch length regulator to go any smaller than 5. It works just fine going up all the way to 8+ however it is too tight to move it any smaller than the 5. I have tried the backstitch bar trick, but still nothing. I was wondering if it would help to loosen the screw on the regulator dial. Any suggestions, or do I need to call someone at Cowboy? Please and thanks for any and all suggestions.

When you shorten the stitch this machine like many others it will make the dial alot easier to go to a lower length by pushing the reverse lever down an inch. This takes the pressure off the dial.
