rawhider Report post Posted December 14, 2007 (edited) Thanks for the compliments! Spencer G, I did cut all the fringe by hand...it sucked! My right hand is a little sore now, but it was all worth it. Traditionaly, armitas were made with deer hide. The buckaroos would have a set of summer armitas, and a set of woolies (full length chaps made out of angora, bear or buffalo) for the winter time. I built these ot of a cowhide that a freind gave me for my birthday. He's a blacksmith, and he uses the same kind of hide to build his aprons out of. You can see on the apron of these ones I ran out of long pieces to cut my fringe, so I had to piece a smaller piece in. Good thing they were for me!
