Kevin King Report post Posted February 20, 2008 This is my first machine. I had no idea what I was buying when I bought it, but it works like a dream. I learned on this one. I actually had my Juki a couple of months before I gave up using this one. I was afraid of the Juki. Anyway, this one has been sitting in my storage for a couple of years now and thought it was time to pass it on. $300 I'm sure shipping would be quite an ordeal not to mention expensive, so local pick up is prefered. I really dont wanna mess with shipping this thing. If you do want it shipped, I will charge actual shipping charges, so i'm not sure what that'll be. I might be interested in some kind of trade but prefer the cash I know its a singer and it can sew the thick stuff. There is no knee lift or backstitch. (I got good at sewing with one hand because of this machine) If ya got any questions i'll do my best to answer them for ya. I can also provide more pics if you want. roo4u Report post Posted February 22, 2008 hi...im possibly interested in your machine and just have a couple of questions. i have only sewn with a regular sewing machine, always sewn leather by hand. how difficult is this machine to learn and use? ive heard people talk about different machines being really hard to use. you said it is a medium heavy machine, what weights did you most commonly sew on it? i make dog leashes and collars etc. using 2ply of anywhere from 3oz to 8/9oz. any info would be appreciated. thanks tracy

I know it'll do the 2ply of 3/4 and probly 5/6 but i'm not sure bout the 8/9. As far as learning, I learned on it and I didn't have a clue what I was doing. Art Report post Posted February 28, 2008 Hi Kevin, Talk about not knowing what I was doing, my first machine was a Strobel I picked up at a yard sale, $50. I was proud when I got it home. I looked for HOURS for the bobbin or bobbin case, and finally the wife comes down and takes one look and tells me it is a serger or a chain stitch machine, looks a little further and says yep, that's a chain stitch machine. So I says to her, "can you tell me how to get the bobbin out?" then the learning started. I would sew leather up to about 15oz really well. Today I wished I never got rid of it. Art I have sewn some pretty thick stuff on it. I know it'll do the 2ply of 3/4 and probly 5/6 but i'm not sure bout the 8/9.As far as learning, I learned on it and I didn't have a clue what I was doing. Kevin King Report post Posted May 25, 2008 Okay. I still have this machine. I got a chance to try it out last week and have a couple of issues. I am not very good a working on machines so heres the deal. There is nothing broken on the machine, everything works and turns like its supposed to but when trying to sew a test piece, it hangs up at about the 4th stitch and the bobbin thread is all bunched up. I will sell this machine, motor, and table for $150. I am in Joplin, MO and would prefer local pickup as shipping will probably cost an arm and a leg. I think the machine is out of time but am not sure. $150 is an awesome price for someone that can work on these things. Please feel free to ask any questions.
