BlackDragon Report post Posted Saturday at 02:46 PM I'm trying to ID a couple sewing machines so I can price them properly. If anyone can help I would appreciate it. The first says Ferdinand, inc. The only thing missing, that I know of, is the screw to hold the needle.
BlackDragon Report post Posted Saturday at 02:49 PM (edited) The second is a Union Special. It's on a Singer table so I'm not sure if the Union Special is a Singer or was just put on that table. I have the manual but it lists several styles. I was hoping to narrow that down. Edited Saturday at 02:52 PM by BlackDragon
Constabulary Report post Posted Saturday at 03:11 PM (edited) The FERDCO seems to be a SEIKO STH-8 of some kind - seems it has a heavier hand wheel. https://www.seiko-sewing.co.jp/en/products/sth-8bld-3/ I know nothing about Union Special machines but it looks like a high speed tailor machine Edited Saturday at 03:13 PM by Constabulary
shoepatcher Report post Posted Sunday at 06:08 PM (edited) C, That Seiko made to sew heavier with the big flywheel. Ferdinand did that on a few machines to give them a lot of torque and punching power. I saw one set up to sew t webs on a hockey goalie glove. Was sewing thru 4 and 5 layers of leather. Did a great job. Cleaned up and sewing $1,200.00 easy. glenn Edited Sunday at 06:10 PM by shoepatcher
