Members Hrmn Posted January 4 Members Report Posted January 4 Hello folks. First post here, and I like this place already! So I have this quite old pfaff 145 VB6B S that has got some creaking going on. It is new to me but I don’t know the former owners care of it. It is cleaned and lubed. Stitching is great. I can feel some friction cranking the hand wheel as the top feed lifts. I can also feel the creaking with my hand coming from that area. More presser foot pressure means more creaking. Feed timing is good. anyone figures what could be the issue here? please watch video in the link: Quote
Members Hrmn Posted January 7 Author Members Report Posted January 7 SOLVED: after some thinking and trial and error I solved the problem by adjusting the presser bar guide. There was som play between the guide and the roller, causing the lifting arm to push towards the front of the machine rather than pushing the presser upwards. Quote
Members dikman Posted January 7 Members Report Posted January 7 Trying to diagnose something like that when you're not in front of the machine is always difficult, which is probably why you haven't had any replies. Quote
Members shoepatcher Posted January 9 Members Report Posted January 9 I would say the inside and outside foot are out of sync since one is raising a lot more than the other. It also needs oil. There are directions on like to adjust the feet lift to be uniform. glenn Quote
