Loose part in Juki 1541

Any time I tilt my 1541 back to inspect the underside of the machine, I have a loose part that slides toward the back of the machine and interferes with raising the presser foot. 
 

The part is loose so I can use a small screwdriver or other similar tool to push it back into the hole in the casting, at which point I can once again lift the presser foot. The photo shows the part, at end of red arrow. 
 

Any idea what that part is and how to fix this?  I’m wondering if anything is even supposed to be in that hole in the casting.

Not quite sure what you saying is Loose ?  , is that what talking about a ( not quite in focus ) about 2:00 position next to the large flat-blade bolt head ?Inside the small back-side cover plate on mine. What I have in that spot ( in casting Hole )  but it is held in place, and mostly hidden by the linkage of the presser feet Lift Lever.

I can just get my tiny screw driver blade to contact it, and when I push on it . It is slightly loose, but has some spring retention behind it that is pushing/holding it in contact with back of the lift lever linkage, when lifting it .
( I not 100% positive ) but,  ( when manually lift the raise-feet lever ) . ' It ' , is what travels up against and pushes against the inside ( Tension Release Pin ) inside behind your thread route Tension Disk Assembly.
It is all half hidden, but with the small back cover Off, and If you take Open the main front of Head cover to also make more light and see threw it all. You can kind of make better sense of it all by looking at it all work when you move the lift lever up and down . 
How is your Tension release working ? when you lift up and down with the raise presser-feet lever ?

I never really paid attention to that small part you talking about . All I really know about what is behind that small rear cover plate. Is the hidden adjustment screw that you need to get loose to adjust Outer Presser feet height . Adj.Screw is hidden behind the presser foot lever linkage. and you got to lift presser linkage and look upward to even access see it. Juki did a good job hiding that one.
I will check latter to see if I can find the 1541 parts book to see what that might be.

It’s part of the thread tension release mechanism. It looks like your foot lifting bracket sits a little too low on the presser foot bar. The pin inside the machine should not be able to slide out. 
 

I made a video once on how to replace the slider assembly. I don’t think you have to replace yours, but you may have to adjust its position on the presser bar a little.

Thanks for the replies.  After removing the cover for better light, it is clear that the part is the "tension release bar" or part 24, 25 or 26 in the thread tension parts diagram.  My thread tension release still works and I can see the tension disk get displaced when I lift the presser foot.  So the tension release bar is intact but just moving around too much.  

At least on the Juki 1541 (a little different than the mechanics in the video), the presser foot lever seems to directly move the part that the tension release bar is interfering with, so it isn't clear how to adjust so the bar cant get out of position.

I think I figured it out.  Found a broken bit of metal inside the machine that appears to be the topmost bit of part 46 in the pressure adjusting parts diagram.  So looks like I have to do the replacement in the video.
