Members PaulMer Posted yesterday at 01:44 PM Members Report Posted yesterday at 01:44 PM Hook to needle clearance is too great, little less than 1/16". Experiencing skipping, of course. Can not find anything from Adler books or videos on how to adjust clearance. Much different set-up than a Class7 Hook adjustment. Quote

Members Constabulary Posted yesterday at 06:01 PM Members Report Posted yesterday at 06:01 PM (edited) not sure what you mean with needle hook clearance? You mean the distance from the needle to the hook tip? If you mean the rise from the BDC to form a loop then 1/16" is not enough. Machines with 328, 214 or 216 needles usually have a rise of 3.5mm - 4mm from BDC. Edited yesterday at 06:05 PM by Constabulary Quote
Members PaulMer Posted yesterday at 06:31 PM Author Members Report Posted yesterday at 06:31 PM The clearance from hook tip to Needle scarf for the hook to to catch the loop. Most clearances should be about 0.1mm and this machine is way greater than that. Quote
Members Michiel Posted yesterday at 07:25 PM Members Report Posted yesterday at 07:25 PM If I remember correctly, the distance is set with shims Quote

Wanted confirmation. That will get the hook in place, but, in addition, the hook driver is need of adjustment as well. There is no needle support/guard and the needle is just floating out there. Members Michiel Posted yesterday at 07:36 PM Members Report Posted yesterday at 07:36 PM Hook setup is the same as adler 205-102 adler 266 and adler 366 (Part 266 15 on this one) I think the hookdriver act as an needle guard Quote
Members Michiel Posted yesterday at 07:39 PM Members Report Posted yesterday at 07:39 PM I think i had some help from the service manual for the adler 366 when I worked on my adler 166 Quote
Members Michiel Posted yesterday at 07:54 PM Members Report Posted yesterday at 07:54 PM I might be wrong but i think i have had a 166 where one can turn the race for the barrelhook to move it front and backwards you could try that…. Quote
Members PaulMer Posted 23 hours ago Author Members Report Posted 23 hours ago In the diagram are the parts behind the Driver shaft "Shim" washers of varying size? As well as the 3 choices behind the race starting with 266? Without a Part# list and description, hard to know. Quote
Members Cumberland Highpower Posted 19 hours ago Members Report Posted 19 hours ago (edited) is it a 328 needle? Edited 19 hours ago by Cumberland Highpower Quote

Here you find the partbooks https://www.college-sewing.co.uk/parts-books/durkopp-adler-sewing-machine-parts-books.html but i think you have a change your barrel hook race is threaded on the backside and you can make your adjustment by making turns anti clockwise Quote
Members Michiel Posted 13 hours ago Members Report Posted 13 hours ago I hope I am clear enough my (technical) English is not good Quote
Members PaulMer Posted 8 hours ago Author Members Report Posted 8 hours ago Yes Michiel you are clear enough and thank you! And to Cumberland High Power, it is a 328 needle system. Quote
