Members john27 Posted February 13 Members Report Posted February 13 Hello, I am struggling to diagnose our Pfaff machine. After a jam and a broken needle, we have been having trouble with the machine hitting the foot with the needle going forward. I started going down the timing route, but the needle lines up perfectly when running it in reverse. Any insights would be great. Quote
CowboyBob Posted February 13 Report Posted February 13 @john27 Are you sure it's hitting the foot or is it the feed dog? Quote
Members shoepatcher Posted February 13 Members Report Posted February 13 The inner foot is out of sync. There is a screw for adjustment in the front of the machine if i remember. When you loosen it, it allows you to re-center the inner foot and the feed dog. Will be in the the mechanics manual for a 145, 545,1245 . Quote

Members shoepatcher Posted Monday at 09:56 PM Members Report Posted Monday at 09:56 PM (edited) For Pfaff 335. First set stitch length to 0. Remove the little cover plate to the left of the reverse lever. There is a big straight slot screw behind it. Loosen screw and it will allow you to move the rock frame with needle bar inside it. You turn the balance wheel until towards you and bring needle just above the feed dog hole. Now center needle in feed dog hole. Tighten big screw so that it holds. Turn balance wheel and see if it is centered in feed dog hole. If good, tighten screw good and tight. If not, re loosen screw and re center the needle in the feed dog hole. Tighten everything up if centered. Replace cover plate and set stitch length to max. Turn wheel by hand to see if everything aligns. Now good to go. glenn Edited Monday at 09:58 PM by shoepatcher Quote
