Members CarMor75 Posted 23 hours ago Members Report Posted 23 hours ago Hello I'm new to this site so if I'm doing something wrong please don't be mad rather help me out so I can learn. I recently acquired an Adler 153 and noticed that it didn't have a timing belt. I've read up and I'm seeing that this is almost impossible to get but then I found other posts that people have found belts that work. Any help would be appreciated as to the fact if this belt replacement exists or if there is something else I could use or am I just totally screwed. Thank you Carmen Quote

Members Constabulary Posted 10 hours ago Members Report Posted 10 hours ago (edited) They are no longer available - even in the land of Pfaffs and Adler 😉 IIRC in the German Sewing Machine forum we had a lady who managed to install new upper and lower gear + an "of the shelf" timing belt on a 153 or 189 but that's was a hell of a process IIRC. However there is a replacement kit but its not cheap and IMO not worth the money considering for what kind of machine it is for. https://www.ebay.de/itm/176815412544 If it was me I´d look for a Pfaff 262 or similar. Members CarMor75 Posted 4 hours ago Author Members Report Posted 4 hours ago Thank you very much for the info. I actually have a Pfaff 262, just thought I'd give the Adler a try. At this point it's nothing but a project, I don't NEED the machine thank god. It's crazy that there's a conversion kit but not just a replacement belt. Well it will be just a very large paperweight!! Thanks again Quote
