esantoro Posted April 21, 2007 Report Posted April 21, 2007 Any ideas for a source for 5/6 oz leather like this one below (rustic oil-treated chrome tanned)? I've some sides from Siegels. It could work, but not quite. I'd like to use this leather for books and briefcases. Thanks, Ed Quote http://www.waldenbags.com http://www.waldenbags.etsy.com
Members K-Man Posted April 21, 2007 Members Report Posted April 21, 2007 Try the folks at Hermann Oak. They have something very similar to that, and it's relatively new. I have a couple of samples of it. I can't remember what the name of it is at this moment, but it's being used for briefcases and similar. On the back of one of the samples I have it says, "Water Repellant, Dry Milled." It comes in two colors - black and brown - and is 5/6 oz in weight. I've ordered a side of the black. Talk to Judith or Lee at Hermann Oak, and ask for a sample piece of this, and that they sold some to Kevin at K&D Holsters. They can easily look that up and get you a sample. Or send me an email, and I can send you a small piece from what I have. Quote

I'm also looking for this other type of leather, if anyone has any leads. Thanks, Ed Quote http://www.waldenbags.com http://www.waldenbags.etsy.com
