I decided to make myself a Bible cover this week. I don’t sell, so I just buy the cheap tandy economy sides. Maybe one day I’ll spring for some herman oak or something. I kinda like the rustic character though, it makes the items easier to use. If anybody’s seen the brand before, that would be cool.

~5 oz veg tan

-roughly 11”x8”x3” “storage space”

-saddle stitch with pricking iron and 1mm thread (~5 sti)

-finished with Neatsfoot oil and mink oil compound

-5 thong mystery braid as described in “braiding leather” by Bruce Grant. Roughly 8oz veg tan

-larger for most bibles, but it fits my study material (nkjv scoffield bible, cheap composition notebook, cheap faux leather notebook, and various office supplies)

-if you squint your eyes and tilt your head to the left, the snaps and bottom of the brand makes it look like one of those cat characters from Japan.

That is a cool design.  I really like it.  Stitching looks clean all the way around. That brand is pretty cool too.  The only thing i would add would be to slick the edges, even those on the mystery braid.  Well done.
