Hi everyone! I am a part of a group of advertising students in Texas working with an emerging leatherworking nonprofit, whose mission is to preserve and promote the leathermaking craft. As part of our project, we are conducting primary research by gathering insights from those currently interested and involved in the craft. We encourage you to take the time to fill out our survey and aid us in guiding our research and strategy as we develop recommendations to support this new organization. Your input is greatly valued, and we truly appreciate you taking the time to share your responses with us.

Here’s the survey: https://forms.cloud.microsoft/r/LTR0Pe3AAE

Please feel free to leave a comment on any questions or further insights you may have!

People who know absolutely nothing about the craft want your knowledge so they can make money tax-free. And it's a Mission. lol.

Worked in a prison for 30 years if I aint shiny every time I comment its no big deal, I just don't wave pompoms.

I'm involved in nonprofits.

Better question - what is the underlying nonprofit?

I dunno... this seems sus to me. No name, no goal, no real information given. I'm not clicking any unknown link. Doc already gave the warning, but I wouldn't anyway. Not trying to discredit anything, but this looks like the same fake generic messages I get on LinkedIn. Let us know more about this non profit and it's mission.

Any non-profit, NGO or other org seems sus to me automatically, and only by sharing clear, comprehensive and often legally required information can they elevate themselves in my (not always) humble opinion.

TL:DR I'll reconsider doing your survey if you start by offering a reasonable fee for my time.

If I remember, I'll look at their website on a public library computer. They have very good fire-walls and will soon tell me if its sus.

I'd like to help anyone who wants to help leatherworking continue existing

No responses back?

Just my opinion, of course, but if it's a college program, it's about writing grants for a made-up problem, which this is. Surveys are shady at best because they are always slanted to prove the need.

Approximately 30% of U.S. nonprofits receive government grants, translating to over 100,000 organizations that collectively receive around $303 billion annually.

Preserving leather crafting knowledge in a systematic and accessible way would be a worthwhile project. Since the user mentioned an "emerging non-profit", it makes me wonder what that means.

Looking at the source code of the post, the link appears to actually go where it claims, even if I didn't actually click it.

It means they want to make it a plausible enough reason so they can write grants. Surveys are easily slanted for just that purpose.

The way i see it, the problem was solved about 5000 years ago, they are called books lol, and ya keep 'em in a public library. Remember way back when people used to read them before their brains were turned to mush by technology and instant ten-second answers.

A simple Google search and a guy can find dozens of these NPOs for leather already, all doing and saying the same thing.
