Can anyone explain what the 4 switches do in the up and down positions? Thanks Paul

At a wild guess, 3 is needle stopping up or down and 4 is up or down for the presser foot. Maybe you're supposed to reach down and flip that #4 switch instead of reaching for the lever?

#4 suggests it automatically lifts the foot when you stop stitching.

#2 whatever it does when in the down position it's off.

Whatever #1 and #2 do screws 4 and 5 adjust the speed.
