Dynamik1 Report post Posted January 30, 2009 Are Airsoft guns a valid approximation for use in forming/boning holsters? I have seen Beretta M9 Airsoft guns on eBay for $19, whereas the equivalent Ring's Blue Gun would cost $40-ish.

I dunno, but I will be following this thread. I can only make 3 types of holsters atm, half price on replicas would be nice!
MADMAX22 Report post Posted January 30, 2009 Someone else posted that you have to take a caliper to them because he tried this on a couple and they were a little large or off in some areas. Not sure by how much.
rhall Report post Posted January 30, 2009 I don't think they are close enough to work well.the aluminum prop guns are closer to the right size,I use one for Single Action Army revolvers.I think I paid about 5.00 for that one.

338uwm Report post Posted January 31, 2009 I've seen some airsoft be on the money then some just not quite there. If I was the one making it, and it was to be boned. I'd go ahead and get the blue gun. Regular plain jane like cowboy style should work fine. If you don't have a 92s it's a good excuse to buy one.
