Members ajanderson Posted February 8, 2009 Members Report Posted February 8, 2009 I need some help. A friend of mine has a black berry phone and wants a case for it. Problem is that the prepunched cases wount fit his phone. I need a patern or a way to make one that will fit this phone. Many thanks. Quote
Scary Leatherworks Posted February 8, 2009 Report Posted February 8, 2009 I have a blackberry and I could post a pic of the case that came with mine. I just recently made a cell case for a similar phone. I didnt have the phone so I traced it on a piece of paper and traced the side also so I'd have the thickness. Then I made a blank out of cardboard. Cut a piece of leather wide enough to cover the phone with 1/8 inch seams and long enough to wrap it lengthwise. then stitch the two sides the top is left open and just cut it to shape (U) on the top. I left my sides a bit wider then trimmed them close after they were stitched. Also if you make it tight enough you can wet mold it to shape for a perfect fit. Scott Quote

Members akaawol Posted April 29, 2009 Members Report Posted April 29, 2009 So this is my case. I used paper to size up the phone. Blackberry's recognize their case by a magnet. Quote
Members Rottmaster Posted June 25, 2011 Members Report Posted June 25, 2011 Hey there cowboy 316, if it's not too much trouble I would really love a copy of your template of your cell phone case. King's X Posted June 25, 2011 Report Posted June 25, 2011 Here are a couple of phone carriers that I made. I cannot find the pattern for the first picture right now. The unsewn case is for my Motorola Droid. Reduce it by 3/4" from the center for a Blackberry. For other phones, adjust accordingly. Good luck Quote
bison Posted June 25, 2011 Report Posted June 25, 2011 I've attached a template I created for a Blackberry curve 9300. It was for a lady who wanted something to protect it in her purse, so there's no clip. Quote

Members Gawdzilla Posted June 25, 2011 Members Report Posted June 25, 2011 This one Tandy sells looks dead easy to reproduce. Adding: I cut a "relief" hole where the charging cable goes in when I know what model phone the buyer has. That allows them to charge the phone while it's in the case. One person got into the habit of charging it in the car while it was still on his belt. He learned to remember to disconnect after a few "oopsies". Quote
Members Rottmaster Posted July 8, 2011 Members Report Posted July 8, 2011 Does anyone have a Tandy cell phone pattern like this one?, just the regular old cell phone pattern. This is the pattern I have been looking for nothing fancy. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Quote
Members Gawdzilla Posted July 9, 2011 Members Report Posted July 9, 2011 One or more of these should be able to translate to leather. At minimum you get the dimensions. http://sewing.about.com/od/bagstotespurseproject/ig/Free-Bag---Purse-Patterns/Cellphone-case.htm Quote
