Can I remove Satin Sheen and re-apply stain/dye?

I'm finishing my first motorcycle seat and I tried using satin sheen on parts of it and it didn't cover well enough and when I applied the color it didn't protect evenly. Now I was wondering if I can remove the satin sheen and re-apply the color?

Try some deglazer, which should remove most if not all finishes. I ran into the same thing recently. Next time, try Super Sheen on the parts you want to resist. Three coats should be plenty and allow each coat to dry overnight. Good luck!

I just used acetone to remove the old junk but follow precautions use in a well ventilated area or outdoors as I did .After stripping the finish ,I scrubbed the surface w/water/detergent and Plain water, allowed it to dry well before refinishing.It saved the project!

I've heard that the fumes will do the same thing to your brain without the use of proper ventilation.
