Greetings from Round Rock, Texas

Have bought several tools from Lonnie, they are very good.

While speaking to Lonnie the other day I forgot to suggest he assign numbers to each of the tools on the catalog sheets. Difficult to order without.

I bought several stamps from Lonnie, they are excellent tools. I suggested to him they put the name as well as the tool number at each tool photo

in his little catalog. I haven't checked for awhile but I guess he hadn't the time to do that last time I checked.

I have several of varying ages in my collection. I have large hands and all are just a tad shorter than anybody else and I have to be careful about how I hold them so as not to crack my left index knuckle. Also it seems like they are often on the soft side, bending with use and I bend them back straight and go a little more til they bend again. All that said, the impressions are great.

Sorry for reviving such an old thread. I just purchased a set of 3 Hackbart bevelers and I couldn't believe how good they were. I'm a believer now in the value of higher end tools.

I wanted to know is Hackbart still in business, and should I write them at the address given above to get a catalog? I checked their website and it looked like it hadn't been updated in some time. Does Hackbart still offer a catalog, and tool set deals?

Lonnie worked/trained under Ellis for some time and he and his wife took it over a few years ago after Ellis passed away (great guy, met him years ago at a leather show in Ventura Ca.)

I own tools from both Lonnie and Ellis and they are all top quality. I damaged a large Basket tool that I bought from Ellis and 10 years later I sent it in to Lonnie to be repaired and he sent back a new one at NO CHARGE! The transition for the customer has been seamless for this maker.

Lonnie and his wife are great people and the tools are top notch, affordable, and will improve the looks of your tooling significantly!

All contact info is the same. Start with the 15 tool basic set and go from there.

You must be really "Wacking" those tools!! lol!! You might give Lonnie a call and tell him about the bending. He may want to see them.

The only tools I have bent have been the Craft tools and some that I bought from Hidecrafter, all were edge border type tools.

To anyone wanting to know if they are still around. The answer is yes, and the deal of 15 tools for $145.00 is still good. The easiest way to contact them is by phone. I called and talked to Lonnie on Monday and put in my order, and the tools came in todays (Thursday) mail. I'm a very happy camper, and will be ordering more goodies next week sometime from them.
