Members nicker Posted March 23, 2009 Members Report Posted March 23, 2009 The shop where I've been training at, he has a Landis leather splitter. It's green, fairly small and ran with a motor and belts. I have been looking all over the place for one. I've heard you can pick them up for about $700. I really need something that does the work for me because I have a manual leather splitter but I'm just not strong enough to use it and I've been having lots of trouble with pain in my arms and neck. So if anyone can help me find one or something similar that would be spectacular! Also if anyone is looking for a manual one. I bought it from Tandy for about $500 and it's barely used... I"ve probably pulled about 10 pieces of leather through it. Thanks so much! Quote
Moderator bruce johnson Posted March 23, 2009 Moderator Report Posted March 23, 2009 The Landis handcranks I know of usually sell for $600-750. Once in a while a good complete handcrank will slip through Ebay for a little less. Some guys have motorized the 6" hand cranks. Take off the crank and replace it with a pulley. That is going to be the most economical probably unless you hit the right place at the right time. The old motorized small splitters don't show up much. Unless someone hits a shoe repair closing up, the used machinery guys are about it. Quote

Members sclast Posted October 31, 2011 Members Report Posted October 31, 2011 I am a new member to this website and I just saw this post. I have and old Fenda electric splitter that has been uses only about 6 times I think. I guess I should get rid of it and I am curious if you ever found and electric one or not. How much do you want for it and where would you be shipping it from? Thanks! ~Nikki I am a new member to this website and I just saw this post.
