I also noticed that with you in Memphis and me down here in South Carolina we're almost next door neighbors. I really enjoy and appreciate your pictures of the work that you do. I hope to get to feeling better and start doing more myself, soon. I gotta get the Diabetes under better control, LOL, that disease can and will make you sick and feel bad. Anyway thanks for sharing with us. Until Later Billy Perdue

howardb Report post Posted March 7, 2008 Luke - pre dyed? That's... cheating!! Those are nice knife sheaths (say that 5 times in a row...). Just teasing about the pre colored leather. Brent
Warren Report post Posted March 7, 2008 Luke as usual you produced some top notch work there! Those turned out very well. As for cheating, I would hardly call it that! Smart maybe but not cheating. I've used some of it myself and really like it. I over-dyed some on my last project and it turned out great. Keep the faith. Warren

Rayban Report post Posted March 8, 2008 Luke...excellent work my man....tell me about that pre-dyed W&C...do you handle it the same way you do the un-pre-dyed leather? Just case it, stamp, and sew? Actually, with the limited stamping I do, I find I can just wet the W&C to a certain point, then stamp. I don't actually case it, since I'm able to finish my small projects in one sitting. Can this pre-dyed be worked the same way?? Again....you do great work...I endeavour to reach such a quality level. R Billy, git to feeling good!! esantoro Report post Posted March 8, 2008 HEY ED.. the edges are finished with brown edge coat and burnished withthe felt burnishing wheel Hi Luke, I just ordered some brown edge kote. i'm also heading to the art store tomorrow to pick up a few colors of heavy acrylic. Edge kote comes in only black in brown. Is there something one can do to alter the shade? I'm also want to take Art's advice and look into some shoe polish. If I remember correctly, the polish that comes in the little round glass jars does look a lot like edge kote. Thanks for the pics of the WC chestnut. Good looking stuff. ed
