I have to admit that these old eyes are getting harder to see with all the time so am looking for a way to light and magnify while I'm working. Bench lights always seem to get in the way and have seen others using a magnifying visor. This Mini-Techlite with a mignifier that is advertised in The Leather Crafters magazine looks like it might fill the bill. Does any one have experience with this or a better way to accomplish the same thing. Any thought appreciated.

Thanks Anne

Do you have the one with the battery pack or the wired model?

I have one also, I have the one with 110 volt wired. I also have 2 different magnify lenses. I cannot do without it, the best money I have spent for a long time. It is really great for the detailed work. The light has no dot or shadow to it. One solid light

I have one with the magnifier lenses. I use it frequently although I don't use the magnifiers as much as I thought I would. I guess I'm not as old as I thought I was!

What strength magifiers do you use? I'm thinking of getting one, cuz my old eyes ARE as old as I think they are.

I would think that X5 would be pretty good?

I use the techlite almost all the time. I have a 7x, which is recommended by the owner. My wife also has one and tried using the 10x, but it was too strong for what she was doing. She had a 7x but the shaft broke on it and it we are now trying to replace it. Best of luck no matter what magnifier you get.

I called and ordered one this morning. I found out if you call and order it by phone and mention the price listed in the Leathercrafter Journal it was 49.95 with one magnifier and the second was 10.00 got the ones recommended for 14" and 8" distance but don't know what the # is. Online they are 59.95 plus 16.00 for each magnifier. Quite a savings, enough for a one year subscrition to the magazine, I know David Reis will love that. They are going to be at the Sheridan show if anyone is interested. Once again thanks for all the help

I received my new techlite Friday and already love it. The numbers on the magnifiers are 3 & 5 and 5 seems to be the best so far for me. The only problem is the wife has already decided she needs it more than I so looks like I'll have to order another one so think I'll try the # 7 this time. Sure keeps my old eyes from getting quite as tired, now if it would only improve my leather work.

I received the Mini-Techlite last week.

Right out of the box I thought it was great, now week later use it all the time.

No shadows to put-up with and every thing is sharper.

No eye strain.

Have the # 2 & 3 lenses.

Well worth the price.
