Slobber Leathers with rope stamp

Here is a pair of slobber leathers that I just finished for a guy here at the ranch. We have worked on three different patterns and this is the one he liked the best. They are lined and stitched using a boss stitcher and 207 thread. Lightly oiled and finally a coat of bag coat. I really want to thank Bruce and Hidepounder for their help in how to use the rope stamp and with pictures to look at. Thanks Guys you are a great help not only on this project but to every one else on this web-site. Any ideas to make the next pair even better would be great.

Looks like you have your machine dialed in well. The only thing I see on the stamping is minor. Where the strands cross each other cut the crossing lines a little lighter with the swivel knife and lightly bevel them with a steeper beveler that doesn't push things down as far away from the cut line. When you sent me those patterns I figured they were ends of a teardrop headstall. Good job.

I thought of that after I got them tooled. I will be making a headstall , saddle, saddle bags, taps, and not sure what else he has planed. I'm sure I will get better by the time I finish all the Items.
