I'm going to change the subject.........

For all you saddlemakers & holsters makers, what is the earlyest date that you have

seen saddles or holsters stamped with a Basket weave design.

I mis-understood your question I guess.

I dated a real basket case in college- that would be in the 70's

Holsters - mid-to-late 1870's but they don;t look much like todays - just a plain under over weave - sort of like a bunch of squares

My grandfather had a 1901 holster basketweave very simple design.
