Does anyone order from S-T Leather in St. Louis?

Recommended Posts

This place seems to be a great source with decent pricing and just wondering if anyone orders from them.

If so, what kind of experiences have you had.

Thanks,

Marlon

I've never ordered from them but have local purchased from them. They are pretty nice folks, my wife has had some trouble with the quality of their snaps and other hardware (sometimes you get what you pay for). Overall not a bad place depending on what your looking for.

I live across the river from st louis so I have been there a couple times and got stuff. The prices are cheaper than most and its a closer drive. Very nice people and very helpful when I went there. They don't have a store front type.. but they have two large warehouses of items. I got to walk in the back and look at all the leather they had.. It was alot. Thats about all I know about them. Hope this helps.

Hey Marlon, I agree with the craftsman, make sure that they get your order right, especially if ordering by phone. Since that's the only way for me to order, I'm used to it. I've ordered from them about 10 or 12 times over the last couple of years and have been satisfied everytime. I recommend them for price and service over a bunch of other places alot. I think that they carry the Koygen or Elle or some sort along the Crafttool line of carving stamps. and I've got a few of them and found them to be a good tool. They are also a lot cheaper than other places on their tools. I ordered a 1/4" angle ceramic blade from them for $14.95, when everywhere else was wanting $29.00 and up for the same thing. I also believe that the carving tools are just $3.79 each regular price. Anyway I like S-T Leather and if nothing happens I plan to order some stuff from them next week. Just my .02. Later Billy P

I just placed an order by phone a few days ago, and had a hard time understanding the salesperson, so can only hope she got my order right! It hasn't arrived yet.

I think I'm going to order by e-mail, or snail mail. That way it's written down with part numbers and everything.

I usually order over the phone and while she is hard to understand, she has gotten my orders right so far. The Crafttool type carving stamps they sell are Ivan from Tiawan. Maybe not the best but the ones that I have have been pretty good so far. Later Billy P

I'm not looking for the stamps in particular. Just some things that are hard to find or expensive, like the oxalic acid crystals, shoe tacks, etc...

I got a bag of oxalic acid crystals from them. It goes a long way. Someone said that you can get something like this for wood from Lowes and it will work on leather. I was going to check on that to see if I can save money and if it will work. Maybe someone knows more about it and will help out with more details.

Hey Marlon you might want to check out Zack white Leather Co., if you haven't already. They have some odd, off the wall, hard to find stuff sometimes. If you don't see it in the on-line catalog call the 800# and ask them at the store if they have something you need. Their website is www.zackwhite.com Later Billy P
