Then and Now

Recommended Posts

I came across the very first tooling I did at a Tandy workshop in August 2006, and thought I'd see if anyone else had some Item that they look back at and just shake their head. Keep in mind this was 6 days after a kidney transplant and I was still on some GOOD pain killers. I did the "better" one a couple months ago. Feel free to post pics!IMG00271_1_.jpgIMG00272_1_.jpg

Hello Russ,

I wish I had a picture of the first belt that I carved. Not that it would matter...you couldn't tell what it was anyway. My wife was kind enough to say that it was pretty good for a first one, but she was lying thru her teeth, and my mom said "Oh...that's nice....sure would hold your pants up"! I hope I've inherited her tact....

Your first looked pretty good to me! :)

I was visiting my folks a couple of weeks ago & finaly found all my old 4-H projects. Unfortunately I forgot them when I left town, but hopefuly I'll get some pics here soon. Funny thing is, I thought I was fairly decent at lacing when I was a kid; boy was I wrong!

My first project was a card case... one of of those projects that the art teacher had us cut the pieces for. The swivel knife barely scratched an outline and the lacing was upside down and backwards. But that was ok. I was proud of it and Mom still has it... I borrow it sometimes to show students that we all started somewhere.
