MADMAX22 Report post Posted June 27, 2009 Made a simple belt for myself as I figured I shouldnt be wearing some store bought junk lol. Anyways couldnt decide on any designs so just went with a two tone theme. Pretty simple, not the best job and lots of little booboos. Top layer is 8oz and bottom is 5oz, a little thick but the leather is relatively soft and I guess I could allways use it as a weapon or rescue device and not worry about it breaking. Hand stitched and I used tan and dark brown for the colors.

Hand stitched and I used tan and dark brown for the colors. It's simple, but not plain, and it definitely looks like a sturdy belt. I definitely like it! I would have to advise sticking a bigger buckle on it for use as a weapon, though

TomSwede Report post Posted June 28, 2009 Hey Madmax!! I sure would like to spend a day or two with you to find out what happens in your everday life since you need it as a weapon or rescue device, lol ;-) Belt looks great, clean and elegan The dualtone is a nice touch. Rollers on the buckle is great to save the belt from fraying. Nice job, should attract some interest from friends and foe. Tom

MADMAX22 Report post Posted June 28, 2009 Nicely done! Maybe better with five holes? You are correct, I didnt even think about that stuff till I was reading a how to thread in the saddle section on making straps. Totally didnt even think about it while making the belt. Will be something I hopefully will remember for my next projects. Tom its not that exciting unfortenatly Thanks everyone for the nice compliments. Sure you could be done in 10min probably (guessing) but ahh well, probably took me about 2 hours of stitching maybe a tad more (Im pretty slow) but I like the end result. One of these days Ill get a machine. Thanks for the compliments Bree and Badger.
