"WHITE "SewEasy Delux" heavy duty semi-industrial machine with walking foot, just been serviced. This "working horse" takes LEATHER, JEANS, CANVAS, VINYL and regualr fabrics EASY!!!. Good for alteratons. upholstery and home projects. Runs smooth. Comes with foot control cord. " $135.00 There is no model or serial # yet, but I have requested the info. Might be a good machine for very lightweight leather items. But I would add a roller foot or teflon foot to it to insure it feeds the leather well. If you have a specialty sewing store nearby (the kind that sells machines AND does repairs and perhaps sells & repairs sweepers on site) they may be able to order you the same thing for a lot more money. kevinhopkins Report post Posted July 4, 2009 Hi...for what it's worth, I think it will cause you more grief than what you want if you're going to do handbags.... But at 135 bucks, I'm sure you'll come up with a use for it. The problem for it on handbags is the footlift clearance for seems, and the ability (or lack of it) to climb over seams. Roller feet, even on more expensive machines, generally don't like to step up, and if you're not an experienced operator it will be a problem. If you possibly can, find a way to spend the money, and get one that will for sure do what you want. A good sewing machine always costs more than you want to pay, but it will open doors for you that you might not have considered.... Happy sewing! TwinOaks Report post Posted July 4, 2009 +1 to Kevin's post. I bought a singer 66 off scam E bay after seeing all the wonderful pics of it sewing through leather. Ooops. Sure the singer will sew some things, and it does 'okay' for longer runs on flat leather (just like the pics), but when I hit the first seam on a wallet....it was lift the foot and hand crank it through. Lesson: Sure, you should get deals when you can, but when you get a machine, get more than you think you need.
