LEATHERROO HELLO- FRINGE IS CUT AFTER THE MATERIAL THAT THE FRINGE

IS GOING TO BE CUT FROM IS SEWN INTO PLACE.

I WILL DAMPEM IT WITH A WATER SPRAY,

I WILL USE A CARPENTERS FRAMING SQUARE HELED TIGHT TO THE ELK SKIN

AND THEN USE ANOTHER SMALL CARPENTERS SQUARE TO CUT RIGHT ANGLES WITH IT

THE SURFACE I CUT ON IS A FISKERS CUTTING MAT AND USE PLENTY OF

SINGLE EDGE RAZOR BLADES.

THANKS FOR ASKING

That's beautiful Luke, I can imagine there is some weight to it as well. How many sq. ft. of Elk did you use?

KEN GOOD MORNING, THE BEST I REMEMBER HE BROUGHT ME

3 ELK HIDES THAT HAD THE SHOULDER PART CUT OFF,

THOSE PART WERE USED FOR HEAD MOUNTS.

I ONLY USED THE CHOICE PARTS TO MAKE THE COAT.

NO BELLIE PARTS WERE USED . HE HAS GOTTEN A LOT OF COMMENTS

ABOUT THAT COAT AT THE MOUNTAIN MAN RENDEZVOUS THAT HE ATTENDS

Mr Hatley, that is a beautiful piece of work. You are absolutley the best that I've seen on making a coat like that. Great work, I'm astounded at the quality. I wish we lived closer so I could pick your brain. Again great work, Billy P

Hello Luke, just looking at the elkskin coat you made,it is beautiful. If you have more pictures of the Buck skin or deer skin type shirts i would love to see them. I am just finishing my first shirt out of deer skin.I have a long way to go,but i will keep trying to improve. Again beautiful coat.
