Members Hedge Posted March 26, 2008 Members Report Posted March 26, 2008 (edited) Some of you may find this useful. I worked up a little program to calculate the length of lace you can get from a given circle of leather. (works the other way, too) You just need to put in the width of the lace and it will tell you the size of the circle you need. It's pretty self-explanitory. Wrote this up as a give-away for the fellow who makes Lacemaster. I see he had someone re-write it in Java. So, that's available at his site if you want to use that one. Mine's been tested in Windows up to XP, so it should work for most of you. Been sitting on my computer for awhile and just though someone here could use it. If you find any bugs (programmers always seem to miss one thing or another), let me know and I'll get the varmits out. Johanna will post a message as to where you can download it. Moderator Johanna Posted March 26, 2008 Moderator Report Posted March 26, 2008 Download the zip file, extract the .exe and run it. It will put a very nice lacing calculator at your disposal. Save the .exe file and run it whenever you have a call for it. If your security program hollers about it (because it is an executable) allow it- it is safe. Thanks for sharing this, Hedge! Members Hedge Posted April 22, 2011 Author Members Report Posted April 22, 2011 Thank you! You're welcome, red. It's based on a spiral math equation. So, the more precisely you cut, the more accurate it will be. In any case, it'll get you in the ball park. Quote
Members Hedge Posted April 22, 2011 Author Members Report Posted April 22, 2011 Thanks! Yeah, iPhone is Mac based. Been out of the programming game for a few years now and re-familiarizing myself with another OS is not appealing. :brainbleach: Just wish I had this for my iPhone. Now that would be awsome.
