Members corter Posted March 31, 2008 Members Report Posted March 31, 2008 i got an order for an id holder, this is what i came up with. it's a cutout, but with no plastic in it, we couldnt find any sort of material that was thick enough and wouldnt get hazy before the wallet died. any suggestions? (this was before i finished the edges too...sorry) Quote
Members Spider Posted March 31, 2008 Members Report Posted March 31, 2008 No suggestions but I do love your wallets. To me they also look like a canvas to tool on. They do look great as is though. Quote
ETW Grumpy Posted March 31, 2008 Report Posted March 31, 2008 I bought some clear plastic material from Hobby Lobby for that. You buy it by the yard like fabric. Quote

Ambassador Beaverslayer Posted March 31, 2008 Ambassador Report Posted March 31, 2008 Corter your wallets just keep getting better each time. As Grumpy said, you can by thick clear plastic, I've gotten it from the fabric store as well. Love the design. Ken Quote

Members RWClark Posted April 1, 2008 Members Report Posted April 1, 2008 I had a prototype SAP wallet made once. Because of the possible impact, we did not want plastic in the ID window. We ended up using a very fine metal mesh like what they have in screens only finer. Worked fantastic and we never had the problems that plastic will give over time. Quote
Members chocolateducttape Posted April 18, 2008 Members Report Posted April 18, 2008 I found this one site on the internet where you can get varying thicknesses of marine plastic... you know, the stuff they make boat windows out of... and it's worked for me. (I can't remember what site it was but probably any marine repair supply place will have it.) Your wallets are way better than mine though. Quote
