I am thinking of making a lined belt for myself.

Should the lining (will be glued & stitched)be thinner than the outer part of the belt?

What are typical weights for lined belts?

Thanks in advance,

Geoff

Normal weight for a lined and stitched dress belt is an 8 ounce body with a two ounce liner, or 8 and 4 like Luke said if you want a heavy work belt or a belt to accomadate a concealed carry holster without undue wear.

Geoff,

I think it would depend on what type of belt you want to make. A dress belt, a work belt or maybe a gun belt. Each of these would require, for the most part, a different weight liner. We do "gun belts" & our website on construction may help you. If it does not, I would be more than happy to help in any way I can.

Good luck,

Thanks a lot for your replies & information.

I will now be able to work on my new belt, which will be a "dress" style belt.
