Members particle Posted January 18, 2010 Members Report Posted January 18, 2010 Money's tight, but I need an affordable machine. I'm about to order the Boss, but want to make sure I buy the correct accessories for making holsters and belts. Will the "Center" foot work for me? Or is the standard foot that it ships with fine? The Center Presser foot can essentially take the place of both the right and left foot, unless you need to get closer than 1/8" to an edge. I'll probably get the material guide too. Is the lube box necessary? What size thread does it ship with? Quote
Ambassador Luke Hatley Posted January 18, 2010 Ambassador Report Posted January 18, 2010 (edited) The Center Foot will allow you to sew very close to the edge of your work. The Edge Guide is very helpful imho... you dont need the lube pot. Thread is 207 on the bobbin and 277 on top. good luck & happy sewing Edited January 18, 2010 by Luke Hatley Quote
King's X Posted January 18, 2010 Report Posted January 18, 2010 I know that two members here have some good deals on the Boss machine with plenty of accessories. TroyS was one of them and the other one's name slips me, but they are out of San Antonio? Good luck. Quote
Frank Posted January 18, 2010 Report Posted January 18, 2010 I'd also get the stirrup plate attachment as well. It brings the holster up off the plate, giving the holster a bit more clearance from the machine when stitching the holster together. Quote
