Members Sixer Posted February 4, 2010 Members Report Posted February 4, 2010 I recently picked up two small bottles of Fiebing Pro Oil dye, one Black and one Saddle Tan. I was wondering what kind of results I might get by mixing in a bit of Black with the Saddle Tan. The idea is to get a darker shade of brown. Has anyone tried this? Did it work out the way you wanted? Quote
King's X Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 Hobby Lobby has those little mixing cups; buy some and try it out by mixing some and working out a scrap of leather. You can pick up a glass dropper at your local pharmacy, walmart, etc. Good luck. Quote
Members tennoutrider Posted February 6, 2010 Members Report Posted February 6, 2010 Sixer, Try mixing 3 parts Saddle Tan to one part Med. Brown. The result is a very rich looking brwn color...I have used this combo on many projects and really like the color. It bwas recommended to me by Don 101 from Germany...he uses it also. Quote
Timbo Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 I'm pretty close to the above mix, but I use 3 parts saddle tan to 1 part mahogany. Its also a very rich color. Timbo Quote
