Members Higgy Posted March 5, 2010 Members Report Posted March 5, 2010 I asked for advice to make my last satchel better. Edges were not pretty so I have been working hard to make them better. Thanks for advice on any more improvements. Quote

Ambassador Luke Hatley Posted March 5, 2010 Ambassador Report Posted March 5, 2010 Great looking Bag. Have you tried the "fiebing edge coat", it is made in brown and black. also you might contac Weavers and ask about there edge coatings, i think theirs is a thicker product. What type of sewing machine did you use to sew the bag. Quote
Members GrampaJoel Posted March 6, 2010 Members Report Posted March 6, 2010 I think it looks great! That's a lot of edge to color though. Quote

What type of sewing machine did you use to sew the bag. I used a Tippmann Aerostitch. I had a little trouble with the thread getting all twisty and not laying straight. Thanks for the suggestions, I will check into the thicker edging. Quote

Members Higgy Posted March 7, 2010 Author Members Report Posted March 7, 2010 I think it looks great! That's a lot of edge to color though. Thank you. It is a lot of edge to coat. I used a belt sander to help even up the edges and then a buffing wheel on a grinder to burnish before painting the edges with edge coat. nice job looks good Dscott Thank you! Quote
