I'm looking for a draw down stand, or some help making a simple one. Thanks for any help,

If you check out some past posts, you can get the number for Ken Allen in New Mexico> He builds a super good one.

Hope this helps. Ken

I printed off a picture of a draw down stand from the internet and showed it to an old timer around here that does good woodworking. He built it just looking at the picture and what a nice job he did. I didn't have to pay any freight and I offered him the going rate to buy one ready made. He gave me back half the money! I feel sort of like I cheated him but we had a pretty good cuss fight before I gave up.

You might look around for somebody close that does woodworking. Keep the money local.

I just put the finishing touches on a stand, out of the Stohlman saddle making series books, solid as a rock (2x6 base) and pretty easy to construct as well!

Jeff,

Stohlman's design is good but has a flaw. The front end is too high. Unfortunately this allows the tree to sit higher in the front on the stand than with a horse. This will foul up your design for saddle.

Troy West had an post on this as well.

Stohlman Drawdown Review
