I'm not familiar with using 40 shore A durometer rubber for a holster mold, but I do use that silicone rubber all the time in my business. If it's silicone you're looking for you can contact Silicones Inc and find your nearest distrubutor http://www.silicones-inc.com/

Thanks for the link Tom.

What I need gum rubber for is to be the bread in my "holster sandwich" so to speak, in order to compress the leather around the dummy gun to form the mold lines on my holsters.

I found the post where Mr BOOMstick posted his setup and listed McMaster-Carr as his supplier for the gum rubber pads :)

There are a lot of places that sell the rubber you need - do a search for '40 durometer rubber' - you'll get a million of 'em
