Members Cannon Posted June 23, 2010 Members Report Posted June 23, 2010 New guy here. Some time ago, a friend found out I was making a few holsters, and asked if I'd like to borrow his leather tools. I thought this group might appreciate a couple of pictures I snapped: And on the bottom of the chest: Quote

Members compound Posted September 28, 2010 Members Report Posted September 28, 2010 (edited) Pěkný nástroj ! Pokud můžu , i zobrazovat pár kousků z mé staré nástrojů sbírky . Nice tool! If I can even show a few pieces from my collection of old tools. - Google translation Edited October 26, 2010 by Denise Quote
Members Sparks Posted October 26, 2010 Members Report Posted October 26, 2010 Nice Treasury of tools! I also like the ones Compound displayed. I have used a tool like the upper left one in Compound's collection. I can't remember if it was just a long needle or one with a handle. A neighbor had it and I needed to sew a button on an overstuffed chair...the tool had the length to get through the material and all the padding so I could attach the five buttons or so I needed to complete the upholstery job. I can see where that stag handled tool would be very handy for marking where the circles are to be cut or deeply incised. Handy stuff. Thanks all for sharing. Quote
Members Sparks Posted October 26, 2010 Members Report Posted October 26, 2010 Does anyone know what the following tools are for? I bought them with some other leather working tools this summer. A few have guessed they were cobbler tools, but the cobbler had no idea what they were. The leather crafting store was clueless but gave their guess, too. it's the bottom four tools I am interested in learning about. The top one is still being made. Sparks Quote
dirtclod Posted October 26, 2010 Report Posted October 26, 2010 Sparks i have all most the same tools. They came out a old whip and collar factory that was here back in the thirty's and forty's but like you i have no ideal what they were / are used for. Quote
