Members Pauly Posted April 26, 2008 Members Report Posted April 26, 2008 Hi, Dug out some photos of some wallets I did last year. I was making one of these every weekend for a while until I got it out of my system. Been enjoying doing less time consuming things this year. bye Quote Dark is a way and light is a place.
TomSwede Posted April 27, 2008 Report Posted April 27, 2008 Very nice and clean looking wallets. Love the raw bands knot and the wooden barrel feel on that one, so cool. How do you get those big fat grooves on the rope design?? Modellingspoon?? I'd like to see more of that one. I like the motif on the one with a flying gun, very neat. Ambassador abn Posted April 27, 2008 Ambassador Report Posted April 27, 2008 That's some fine work there, Pauly. Love that lucky horseshoe wallet. Thanks for sharing your pics! Alex Quote
Members Pauly Posted April 27, 2008 Author Members Report Posted April 27, 2008 Thanks guys. You guessed it Tom, I just embossed it with the pointed end of my modeling tool. Sometimes I open it up more with the flat end but I don't think I did with that one. Makes a nice channel to hold dye and its quicker than cutting and tooling. Sometimes it's nice to finish something in one go and move on to the next thing although it doesn't have the WOW factor of the work that takes billions of hours. Members Spider Posted April 27, 2008 Members Report Posted April 27, 2008 Hey Pauly, These are cool. The lace looks thick. What size is that? I like the look and your technique of your wallets. Hi Spider, Just put a ruler on the lacing in my wallet and it measures 4.5mm. it's official size is probably in inches but I don't know what that is - I tend to shop on instinct. It's slightly bigger than or maybe exactly the same size as the holes my lacing chisel makes so its a bit of a pain for me to lace with. Pauly Quote Dark is a way and light is a place.
