Members PensacolaJim Posted September 10, 2010 Members Report Posted September 10, 2010 (edited) I am a fair weather crafter. So I found this roll-top desk and removed the pigeon hole dividers, cut and drilled 4 x 4's to fill the area. I marked the tool holders to make it easier to find the tool I need. I added a light up under and a magnifier light. The drawers are handy to hold most of my other tools, etc. Just close the top when company is coming.....LOL I read on here that some leatherworkers have limited areas to work in. I thought this idea might help. Jim Edited September 10, 2010 by PensacolaJim Quote
King's X Posted September 10, 2010 Report Posted September 10, 2010 I like the way that worked out for you. I had been looking for a roll top desk but everyone wanted a fortune for them. I recently found a hutch the length of my current stamping table and it was FREE! So I picked it up and put a back and installed it today. Now, I have a board to intall my leather strips that will hold my handtools. I think I am going to go with the PVC tool holder idea that was posted up a few months ago on my hutch. It looks good! Happy Carving! Quote

Ann McGrath Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 That's really nice and neat, Jim. Organized. I quite like the labels you made to make finding the right tool easier. *is jealous, a little* My backgrounders and bevelers and suchlike tools are nowhere nearly that organized and easy to find.
