buffalobill plus Ed D Report post Posted September 21, 2010 Anyone here familiar with this particular machine? I looked it up everywhere but i couldn't find anything on it.There is a gentleman here that has one up for sale but i want to do my homework before i make a move...lol...I am pretty much interested to know if the machine can actually work with thread over #277 and stitch 3/8in thickness(or even thicker) ? Thanks !

Thanks ! I found a 231k for sale in Bramton. It is a walking foot with 20mm under the foot. It looks as though it will sew 3/8 inch very easily. Take a piece of material that you are going to sew and go try the machine out if it isn't to far
CowboyBob Report post Posted September 22, 2010 I've been in the sewing machine biz 31yrs & haven't seen one of these yet,Does anyone have a pic they can post.Of course this machine was made in UK so maybe they never imported many. Bob
dandybob Report post Posted September 25, 2010 I have been in the trade for 68 years and have not come across a Singer 231K machine and I can find no reference to one in my needle reference books. There is a 231- machine made in USA which is a feed off arm machine. This is not a walking foot machine. Have done a little research and asked around and have concluded that the wrong class number has been given and the machine is probably a 132k6 ( reverse the number) if it is a walking foot.
