Davy thanks for getting back to me. So can i assume that the Last will be" larger" than

the foot , as to when the shoe is built on the last there will be enough room in the shoe that the foot

is not cramped for space ?

Ok, now when i go to make the shoe i will measure the foot and then get the approiate last ,

one that will be larger than the foot?

so, why would not the last be made larger to accomidate the size in the shoe that was made on the last?

I would measure the the length of the foot and the girth at the widest part of the foot and the instep . If you are going to buy a last to do the job from a last maker they should be able to guide you . I think those notes said an extra 9mm in length when weight is on your foot . For some info from a bootmaker currently making shoes and "in the know" I saw on a post in here somewhere , a link to a bootmakers forum . They would be able to give you the exact info that you're after and guide you towards someone in your area maybe that can help . Cheers , Dave .
