Luke Hatley Report post Posted September 30, 2008 (edited) Davy thanks for getting back to me. So can i assume that the Last will be" larger" than the foot , as to when the shoe is built on the last there will be enough room in the shoe that the foot is not cramped for space ? Ok, now when i go to make the shoe i will measure the foot and then get the approiate last , one that will be larger than the foot? so, why would not the last be made larger to accomidate the size in the shoe that was made on the last? Davy Report post Posted September 30, 2008 I would measure the the length of the foot and the girth at the widest part of the foot and the instep . If you are going to buy a last to do the job from a last maker they should be able to guide you . I think those notes said an extra 9mm in length when weight is on your foot . For some info from a bootmaker currently making shoes and "in the know" I saw on a post in here somewhere , a link to a bootmakers forum . They would be able to give you the exact info that you're after and guide you towards someone in your area maybe that can help . Cheers , Dave .
