Rylas Report post Posted November 3, 2010 (edited) Hi guys, I'm looking to make a briefcase and I'm hoping to put solid brass or nickel (at least I think it's nickel) fittings on it. The local shop only carry's brass and nickel plated things, so I was hoping you might help me find a supplier. I'd like to purchase solid brass or nickel rivets, buckles and line 24 and 20 snaps as well as D-rings, and clasps for attaching the strap to the bag. I'm also looking for a place which sells more neutral colors of marine grade thread so my stitching can be UV and mold resistant. Or is there a better thread to use? I'm new to the world of bags. Also, I was wondering if antiquing the brass myself would have any adverse effects as far as it's durability? Thanks for your help!
