Members anvilcustoms Posted May 5, 2008 Members Report Posted May 5, 2008 I've been building these for several years now. Made from Brass (polished or Patina) and Aluminum (polished). Replicas of ALL major anvil manufacturers from back in the day!! Have a great week! Quote Cheers, Ryan Wasson Anvil Customs www.anvilcustoms.com

JohnD Posted May 6, 2008 Report Posted May 6, 2008 Ryan, Nice, Do you cast them yourself? I've been threatening myself to get into casting, aluminum and brass. I have been collecting pieces parts to build a furnace. I just need to find the time to get it all together. If you do cast them yourself, would you mind letting me pick your brain at some point? Very nice work. John Quote (rdb):God looked down at the world, and said "See, right there in Witchita, next to the railroad tracks, I didn't put enough dandelions".
Members anvilcustoms Posted May 6, 2008 Author Members Report Posted May 6, 2008 Hey Thanks everyone. Yes I do sell them, have been for about 8 years now. They're fun to make, but tedious little suckers. I do NOT cast them. I have a foundry in IL on the Mississippi River do the casting. Aluminum is ok, but you can really mess things up by melting BRASS. It puts off a HIGHLY toxic fume and is very volital (spelling). Any amount inhaled and cause death or at least land you in the hospital for a spell. Sooooooo.....I decided to let someone else cast and then I do all the tedious dirty work. Glad you like them. Shawn Oh cool.....yeah Trenton, NJ, home of Fisher--Norris Anvil Manufacturing. Very cool. I've owned dozens and dozens of Fishers over the years. They are good anvils.
