I can see what you mean Schno. My first experiences with this also got ruined when applying sealer.

The effect you got could maybe be used as a variation.

Yeah go ahead, it's a nice effect and also quite fun to work with. I always think of back in school when we had lessons were we worked with clay (not ClayB;-).

Definetly, those were the best lessons I think because it seems like I learned to use my hands a bit;-)
