Members HellcatLeathers Posted January 4, 2012 Members Report Posted January 4, 2012 I try to package my items in a scrap of leather and tie it with some leather cord or strap. I like the organic/raw look to it and it seems to add to the presentation of my "hand-crafted" items. Example pic attached. (Items were 3 leather coffee koozies all bundled together) I then put it in a nice brown bag with the rope handles and tied a piece of leather to the handles and attached my business card through a hole I punched in it....put some tissue wrapping paper in there as well. Members Sylvia Posted January 4, 2012 Members Report Posted January 4, 2012 Hi all, i am doing a few orders for custom belts and small leather goods. i am just wondering, how should i package the item? Was thinking of using those brown paper bag, but do anyone have any other ideas or things they use to package the item? Thanks! I like the brown paper idea, but I would probably buy roll brown craft paper about the size of butcher wrap. Secure with raffia or jute twine or perhaps a label. As for boxes. There are flat pack boxes you can by at a local packaging store. Bridal Favor boxes (2"x2"x2") found at craft stores can handle small things too. http://www.michaels.com/Celebrate-It%E2%84%A2-Occasions%E2%84%A2-Brown-Square-20-Ct.-Favor-Box-Set/wd0677,default,pd.html?cgid=products&start=1 http://www.papermart.com/Product%20Pages/Product.aspx?GroupID=20365&SubGroupID=11230&ParentGroupID=18993#11230 Papermart.com has them too. I would probably stick to colors in a similar family. This implies a company brand something like those little blue boxes us ladies know and love you for on sight (Tiffany's) Quote A teacher pointed at me with a ruler and said "At the end of this ruler is an idiot." I got detention when I asked "Which end?"
Members JET4 Posted January 30, 2012 Members Report Posted January 30, 2012 (edited) I have been using appropriately sized 4 mil bags I got from Uline. I print out a card that has contact info as well as warranty and guarantee on it. That gets folded and stapled to the top of the bag. It works well and gives a little more professional appearance to my products. Here's a recent pic: Edited January 30, 2012 by JET4 Quote Otis Leather Company

Was thinking of using those brown paper bag, but do anyone have any other ideas or things they use to package the item? Thanks! I like to use cloth bags to deliver our work in. I think it's a classy touch. I also include a business card holder which I fill with about 10 of our cards. If we have learned anything from Apple it's that first impressions set the tone. Nice packaging is kind of like someone holding the door open leading to a beautiful room inside. Already impressed with the service you are more receptive to what's inside. I could share many testimonials I have received from my customers talking about how impressed with the packaging they were. Quote Support Quality. We are all humans.
