I posted a while back but I can't find that post. I'm looking for another motor to put in my Singer 111. Preferrably a motor that has a 1 through 10 dial to control the speed. The machine is a walking foot machine so I wanted a motor I could dial instead of going the pulley route. Any ideas?

I bought a SewPro 500GR servo motor for my walking foot machine, from forum member and sewing machine dealer Bob Kovar. It has built in 3:1 gear reduction, a 2" output pulley and a speed limiter knob on the back. While it bolted into the original clutch motor holes, it's shaft sits closer to the table than a clutch motor. Therefore, I needed a shorter v-belt to keep the motor adjuster above the bottom of its range. Since the original pulley was a bit larger than the one on this motor, I had to take off another inch from the belt. I finally settled on a two inch shorter belt, which centers the motor height adjuster.

Hi!

I bought a 600-watt brushless servomotor from Cobra Steve for my Adler 67 upholstery machine 145 Usd.

He had to order mine from china because I use 220V (Norway), but the 110V he has in stock.

It is a very strong motor with a led and a dial on the front. You can set the maximum speed from 100 to 3600 rpm/min. This motor is made for the heavy stitchers; it is very direct on the foot pedal and brakes instantly. (stepless change of speed on the foot pedal)

It will make your Singer 111 W very strong and controllable.

He also has a servomotor with needle position. See video on the web page: http://www.leathermachineco.com/. The motor weigh only 5, 5 kg and that is a good thing, shipping to Norway only 75 Usd.

I am very happy with the motor and Steve’s service.

Ronnie at Techsew sells a brand new type of servo motor with a push button speed system and a readout panel on the front face. You just tap the up or down buttons until your desired speed is shown.

I also bought a servo motor (actually 2...) from Bob Kovar, for my Adler 105-64 and just now for my Singer 211-155.....they work GREAT, very affordable and you can go from one stitch per hour...(seems like) to regular machine speed!!

give Bob a call.

I am thinking of doing the same to my 111 singer but I will add the speed reducer to add the slow punch power we need sometimes for the heavier or harder leathers that come up. Prolly gona cost me $500 time I'm done but will power the old girl to sew thru a tank tread

I put a Consew CS 1000 ($125) on my Singer 153w101, been happy with it so far. Its able to go though 3 layers of 5/6 oz chrome tanned and I've got the top speed set to 1000 rpm, slow as one stitch a minute if I want.
