mendedbowl Report post Posted February 10, 2011 Hello, I'm a fan of Jeremiah Watt's style of carving, and I've been interested in his DVD series "The Art of Leather Carving and Layout" for some time now. But the price is a little steep, so I would really like to hear some opinions from people who have viewed this series before I make up my mind about this purchase. Are these mostly for beginners? Will this just be basic beginner information that I have already viewed in many other DVDs, or will there be some real golden nuggets of information that set this series apart from anything else I've seen? All opinions and comments are welcome. Thanks for any input, ken
bruce johnson Report post Posted February 10, 2011 I liked it. It is probably one of the more complete DVDs out there.
gtwister09 Report post Posted February 10, 2011 Ken, Ditto to what Bruce said. It covers the subject pretty well from basics on up to your "golden nuggets". It is well worth the $$$. Regards, Ben

steve mason Report post Posted February 11, 2011 I also agree it is worth the $$$ as you are paying for more than just the instruction, you are also paying for his years of experiance and knowlege. Steve
rmr Report post Posted February 29, 2012 I also agree it is worth the $$$ as you are paying for more than just the instruction, you are also paying for his years of experiance and knowlege. Steve there is currently a used set for 300 being offered- might jump on it if you are still interested it wont be around for long. I bought a new set several months ago and have watched 2 times- very well worth the $$ - there are a lot of little things you can understand better watching being done as opposed to trying to read about it and fill in the gaps RMR
jsmith Report post Posted March 6, 2012 I agree with the rest it's well worth the price, I think I've about worn mine out. Jeff
BondoBobCustomSaddles Report post Posted March 6, 2012 I've not seen the videos, however; the word is that they do a good job of educating. I will tell you this, someone once told me to seek out the person that gets the results you wish to achieve, and watch him/her (some of the best advice I ever got!). I like what I've seen in Jeremiah's work, so given that, it should be worth it for you. By the way, Steve Mason and Bruce ain't half bad either!
