Members Mike Posted January 15, 2008 Members Report Posted January 15, 2008 The site cannot remember me. I have to log on every visit. Mike Quote
Moderator Johanna Posted January 15, 2008 Moderator Report Posted January 15, 2008 I don't know why this is, but I'm checking into it. I'm having a different log in problem. When I click on a link from an email the site is automatically logging me in as "admin". Grrr... I'll get back to you, Mike! Johanna Quote

Ambassador abn Posted January 15, 2008 Ambassador Report Posted January 15, 2008 Mike, I may know what your problem is, because I experienced it, too. I had bookmarked www.leatherworker.net. Everytime I visited the site, the front page would tell me to log in, but the forum pages (and all second tier pages) would say Welcome, abn. Try changing your bookmark to leatherworker.net (without the www). That fixed it for me. Hope it works for you, too. Alex Quote

I have http://www.leatherworker.net/forum/index.php bookmarked and it asks me to log in, but I removed the www like you said and the page opens without me having to log in.... Quote

I will try that. I have just been using it from the history. We'll see how it works. If www.leatherworker.net and leatherworker.net are not the same, is there a DNS problem??? Mike Quote

A possible fix (if you are using Windows) is to open a Command Prompt (usually in Accesories) and type in the following: ipconfig /flushdns This will flush the dns cache and should correct possible issues with any dual DNS entries. Moderator Johanna Posted January 15, 2008 Moderator Report Posted January 15, 2008 For the love of all things bovine, while touching cows, Beaverslayer, do not let the hat tilt, tip, or >aarrgghhh< fall off. Alex, I don't know why removing the www works, but I took it out of my bookmarks (rightclick, properties then edit) and now the links are acting right. Ben's idea to flush the cache is a good one. Mike, did editing the www help with your situation? Johanna Quote

Haven't found the flush handle on my pc yet. Mike Quote
Ambassador freak Posted January 20, 2008 Ambassador Report Posted January 20, 2008 That worked for me as well . Nice find Alex, thanks for the info. On the same note here. Now i've got that working i've noticed that the banner at the bottom of pages make me log in as well but, the one at the top will not. freaky !! Quote
Admin Posted January 23, 2008 Report Posted January 23, 2008 I think it's fixed now, Freak. Following Alex's line of reasoning, I deleted the www. from the link. I have no idea why this works, but it does, doesn't it? Johanna Quote
