mendedbowl Posted March 22, 2011 Report Posted March 22, 2011 Nice work. May i ask what you used to mask your meander stamping when you airbrushed the dark color around the edges? ken Quote
Members BobbyWDavis Posted March 22, 2011 Author Members Report Posted March 22, 2011 Nice work. May i ask what you used to mask your meander stamping when you airbrushed the dark color around the edges? ken Ken That was actually a bit of a screw up. I blocked the border itself with a couple of coats of Super Sheen, then airburshed with eco-flo dyes. I let the peice dry, then went back with a Q-tip and removed the dye from the meander. Very tedious, and messed up surrounding dye a bit where I wasn't careful. Had to do a little touch up here and there, it did not come out perfect. I would do it differently next time. Maybe make a cut-out template to use in addition to some kind of resist. On another note, I have really not done well with the water based finishes. I might stick to Feibings. Quote

Members Wild Bill46 Posted April 10, 2014 Members Report Posted April 10, 2014 I realize I'm after the fact about 3 years, however Im just seeing your Bible cover for the first time, and I can't get over how beautiful it is. Even with your mentioned screw up, Its not noticeable, because its so beautiful otherwise. I'm slowly coming along with my family Bible, trying not to blunder too much. Your will definately be my guiding lite, Thanks so much. Quote
