Frank Posted March 22, 2011 Report Posted March 22, 2011 Here is another new one. A Cheyenne style holster with money belt in an antique finish. I think I'm starting to get a slight grasp of the antiquing thanks to one person in particular. Frank Quote
Frank Posted March 24, 2011 Author Report Posted March 24, 2011 Here are a couple more photos. I antiqued the rivets a bit and also the buckle. It was a pretty fun project all in all. Quote
Members Eaglestroker Posted March 24, 2011 Members Report Posted March 24, 2011 I think that looks gorgeous! What are you using for your dye? Quote
Frank Posted March 24, 2011 Author Report Posted March 24, 2011 Thanks very much. I wasn't sure how well I did on the antiquing as this was only my second antique style rig. I like them to look old and used but not overly used. The dye is a homemade coffee dye. Quote
Members Eugene Posted March 24, 2011 Members Report Posted March 24, 2011 Looks great What weight leather did you use for the belt? Quote
Frank Posted March 24, 2011 Author Report Posted March 24, 2011 Thanks much Eugene. I used 4-5 oz. for the money belt and 10 oz. for the holster. It's a bit heavier than what was used back then but I like the feel of it a lot better. Frank Quote
Members Haystacker Posted March 25, 2011 Members Report Posted March 25, 2011 (edited) Great work! I really like the detail, looks worn around the billet holes, etc. Just a great job. Looks like it belongs in the Packing Iron book. Edited March 25, 2011 by Haystacker Quote
Frank Posted March 25, 2011 Author Report Posted March 25, 2011 Thanks a lot! That was the look I was attempting to go for. Something well used but well cared for. Quote
