anne newkold Report post Posted May 6, 2008 I got my first pair of chaps I ever made back yesterday that I had entered in the show. I was very surprised and thrilled to see I had got 3rd place in the open division. Since they were my first pair I really was not expecting anything, but wanted to enter them for the critique. never think your stuff is not good enough to enter, we are all our own worse critics. ClayB Report post Posted May 7, 2008 Congrats on your ribbon Anne!!!! Now you have to keep entering more shows. One thing on those critiques though. With over 2000 members of this forum, how come NOBODY told me buffalo dont have feathers??????????????? I had to send my picture all the way across the country to a show to find that out. howardb Report post Posted May 12, 2008 howardb took much better pictures than I did. He took pics of the stuff that was gone by the time I got there. See his pics here:howardb's pics Click on any thumbnail for a better view, or use the scroll arrows to view them all. Great pics- thanks for sharing, Brent! Thank you, Brent, for everything you did in public, and behind the scenes to make the show so good. This is Allan Scheiderer, president of the Buckeye Leathercrafters Guild, hosts of the IFoLG show this September. I don't know who the pretty lady is. Brent? Johanna - thanks for making a page for these. I looked through yours on the home page and I don't think mine are any better. Next show, I want exclusive access after awards so I can get proper lighting set up. I was not happy with these at all. As far as the pretty lady with Allan, I'm not sure but will try to find out. Thanks Brent (and Johanna) for posting these pictures. There sure were a lot of really nice projects entered in this show. It's a lot of fun seeing what everyone else is doing. One thing I notice is that there is a lot talent in the open class and hopefully that means there is a bright future for these shows. Brent, you gonna tell us which entries were yours?? I think I recognized a few other items that people have shown here on the forum before too. Clay, right back atcha. Mine were: Mine is the bookmark on the right. It didn't place. My stuff on the HLG table: My checkbook cover didn't place at all! It was up against some very nice ones though, so I don't feel bad. Brent
